Save the Date: Lower School Parent Involvement Day (1/17)

Mark your calendars for Lower School Parent Involvement Day on Saturday, January 17th, 9am-12pm! At this parent covenant event, you will have the opportunity to sit with your child in their classroom and see first-hand what they are learning! Your student will head to class and be fed breakfast. Meanwhile, parents will start with parent workshops and end with classroom time with your student. More information to come soon!

Kindergarten Parent Groups - No meetings in January

Kindergarten parents are required classes that meet the first Tuesday of the month for an hour at Hope Academy or virtually on the first Wednesday of the month. Classes are led by Dr. Darrell Gillespie and cover topics like sibling rivalry, tough conversations, community building and much more! They will go from October - May. Students do not need to attend. One or both parents may attend the sessions.

Upcoming dates: Tuesday, February 3rd & Wednesday, February 4th (zoom).

Please note: there will be NO parent groups in January.

Head Lice Policy Reminder

As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of our school’s head lice policy. If a student is found to have live lice, their families will be notified and students may can return to school 24-hours after treatment has been applied.

Our school does not conduct mass lice checks, so we encourage parents to regularly check their children at home. If a case occurs in your child’s classroom, we will send a general notice to that class, - no names shared.

To help prevent the spread of lice, please remind your child not to share hats, headphones, hair accessories, or bedding, and to keep personal items in their own cubbies or lockers.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community healthy. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Background Checks for Classroom Visitors

To ensure the safety of all students, any parent who wishes to enter a classroom during the school day (for volunteering, events, birthdays, chaperoning, lunch visits, etc.) must first complete a free background check at the front desk. Please bring a photo ID to complete this process as soon as possible. The background check must be completed 48 hours before your visit. Background checks must be completed every school year.

  • Parents will not be permitted to a classroom during school hours without a completed background check.
  • While in the classroom, parents must remain within the line of sight of teaching staff.
  • Example: To join your student for a birthday, the background check must be completed in advance. Otherwise, staff will deliver items to the classroom.

We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school safe and welcoming for every child.
