Hope Academy strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for all students.
In an effort to keep everyone as healthy as possible at Hope Academy, students should not come to school if they have any of the following symptoms:
If any of these symptoms develop during school hours, a parent or guardian will be called to pick up the student.
To report an absence, parents should use their SchoolPass app. Make sure to mark the reason for the child's absence.
Questions? Please contact the Health Office at 612-540-2093.
For the safety of students, it is recommended that medication be given at home whenever possible. If medication must be given during school hours, the following medication policy applies:
School personnel can only give medication with the written order of a health care provider that is licensed to prescribe and the written consent of a parent/guardian.
Medications must be brought to school by a parent/guardian. If any medication is left over at the end of a school year, arrangements must be made to pick it up.
Upper School students may carry and self-administer non-prescription pain medication, such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen, for their personal use only if a parent/guardian signs the Self-Administration of Non-Prescription Pain Medication Form every school year. Emergency medication (such as inhalers or epi-pens) can also be held by Upper School students with the permission of a parent/guardian and health professional.
Minnesota Immunization Law (Minnesota Statutes, Section 121A.15 Health Standards) requires that students receive required vaccines prior to attending school or fill out an exemption. Hope Academy requires immunization or exemption records for ALL new and returning students. Forms are available in our Health Office. Students must be fully immunized or have an exemption filed by the first day of school. Transfer students will be given 30 days to provide proof of immunization or exemption.
Questions? Contact the Heath Office at 612-540-2093.
